Interview with Kei "KC" Tsumura

Kei ‘KC’ Tsumura was born May 17, 1930 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The interview is about Kei Tsumura and his family life in Prince Rupert, British Columbia (prior to World War II), Delta, British Columbia; Neys, Ontario; Meaford, Ontario; Steveston, British Columbia; Toronto, Ontario; and Japan (after World War II). He discusses his father and brothers’ working conditions as shipbuilders before being sent to road camps and then returning to shipbuilding after. He recounts his own working conditions at newspapers such as the New Canadian and teaching karate. He finished high school and took some literature courses at the University of Toronto. He has been involved with the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre for 47 years and spends most of his time traveling the world.
