Known at the time as "Tokyo Games for the Physically Handicapped," it was the second iteration of what we now celebrate as the Paralympic Games. Opened by then Crown Prince Akihito and Crown Princess Michiko, the event attracted athletes from around the world and showcased their fortitude as they push themselves beyond their limits.
